The Pentacle * Stephen King Short Story

I thought I read everything that the King produced but this one came as a surprise. Magic spells, blood sacrifices, covens called “Lucifer’s disciples”.

This is a story of a group of friends who are trying to invoke the old gods of death from ancient Mesopotamia like Marduk (This sounds a lot like Anne Rice’s demon from Blood and Gold) and dabble in the occult like most teenagers do when they feel the need to fit in.

There was something about performing an ancient ritual designed so many thousands of years ago that gave me a sense of power and control.
