From the moment I first met Gideon Cross, I recognized something in him that I needed. Something I couldn’t resist. I saw the dangerous and damaged soul inside–so much like my own. I was drawn to it. I needed him as surely as I needed my heart to beat.

No one knows how much he risked for me. How much I’d been threatened, or just how dark and desperate the shadow of our pasts would become.

Entwined by our secrets, we tried to defy the odds. We made our own rules and surrendered completely to the exquisite power of possession…

My Review

I’m sure I have been more disappointed before but I can’t remember when. I loved “Bared.” I was okay with “Reflected” but I am downright insulted with “Entwined.” This was the worst of the series and that’s really saying something when you consider how mediocre “Reflected” was.

images (1)This, I don’t even want to call it a book; letters on paper lacked a plot, progression, romance, or even drama. It read like a porn script with little, meaningless, boring conversation thrown in the middle of who cares sex scenes. There wasn’t anything romantic about Gideon and Eva’s relationship in this book. Eva appears to have reverted back to a teenage nympho and Gideon has become nothing more than a spoiled little rich kid wanting what he wants when he wants it.

152411-crossfire-entwined-with-youEvery character in this book lack communication skills and used raunchy, uninspired sex to compensate. By the 50% mark I couldn’t have cared less if Eva and Gideon got together or not because I had grown to not like either of them. This was so much filler and trying to create problems for the series to continue and it all came off very contrived. Not to mention, this was supposed to be Gideon’s story.. the man who has been having violent nightmares for the past two books and then the big reveal of the who and what happened is so meh inducing even the characters didn’t spend more than a couple of sentences talking about it.

c9827bc4c334d6711e8207b3c0eaeaabWhere was the drama, the excitement, the romance, the complexity that made these characters so great in “Bared?” I can’t believe a book that was delayed six months ended up reading so rushed and phoned in. I cannot in all honesty recommend this book and to be perfectly honest I also returned it like many other reviewers. There’s no way I’m giving up my hard earned $10 bucks for a low budget porn script. I’m done with this series.
